Spa Etiquette / Terms of Use


A telephone number, credit card or gift voucher reference are required to secure your booking. We will also ask for a 50% deposit. This payment is an acknowledgement of the following terms:

  • All phone calls must be received during normal work hours.

  • If you cancel without providing at least 24 hours notice, our Cancellation Policy applies.

  • If you arrive late for your appointment, full payment for treatment applies even if you are unable to complete your full program. This ensures that the spa is ready for the next guest as per our exclusive booking system.

Arriving on Time

We recommend that you arrive at least 20 minutes before your appointed time to unwind, prepare for your spa experience and to complete our Consultation Form.

As a courtesy to all guests, treatments are completed as scheduled. Late arrivals may shorten your time with us.

Understanding your Needs

Before you begin, we will have a brief consultation with you to ensure you are eligible for each desired treatment. This way, should you have any contra-indications, we can tailor a session to your individual needs. Please inform us of any medical conditions you may have. Things we need to be aware of include (but are not limited to): heart conditions, high blood pressure, allergies, menstruation and pregnancy.

What to Bring

For your comfort, a robe and slippers will be provided. However, please remember to bring some casual walking shoes for exploring the rainforest, as well as a change of underwear. If necessary, we are able to provide disposable underwear.

Healthy and Safe Living

Please note that we are a dedicated health spa and it is our goal to promote your health in every way possible. We advise not consuming alcohol or a heavy meal both before and after your treatment.

In keeping with our philosophy, smoking and alcohol are prohibited within the spa area and surrounding grounds. A stray cigarette could easily start a fire in our beautiful rainforest.

Please note that Ananda is also a strictly vegetarian zone. Please respect our ethos by not bringing any fish and/or meat products with you.

Cancellation Policy

Late cancellations and failures to attend impact on us significantly. Please remember we only cater for one guest or a pair of guests at a time, so the time for your booking is reserved especially for you.

To confirm your booking, we require your credit card details for a 50% deposit OR your voucher details.

We understand that sometimes your circumstances change and you cannot attend your booking. In that instance, the following conditions apply:

  1. Cancellations with more than 24 hours notice: Your booking will be rescheduled or a credit note will be issued.

  2. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice: A 50% cancellation fee of your booking rate applies.

  3. No notice of cancellation: Full payment of the appointment applies.  

  4. During peak season (including public holiday weekends and school holidays), a minimum of 5 business days notice is required to change accommodation bookings. A 50% cancellation fee of your booking rate applies.

Contra-indications for Far Infrared Saunas

You may be unable to sit a far infrared sauna session if any of the following applies to you:

  • You are taking certain medications

  • You are pregnant or menstruating

  • You are a child or an elderly individual

  • You have cardiovascular problems

  • You have recently consumed alcohol

  • You have a condition associated with an inability to perspire

  • You have a fever, cold or flu

  • You have a sensitivity to heat

  • You have a joint injury

  • You wear a pacemaker or defibrillator

If any of the above items apply to you, please inform our friendly staff at the time of booking. We would be happy to tailor a special package to your needs.

Personal Belongings

Your wellbeing is our aim, and so we do as much as possible to make your stay a safe and secure one. However, as there are so many factors out of our control, we cannot be liable for any personal belongings that go missing. All guests must accept responsibility for securing their own items (this includes your vehicle and all its contents).
